The Sa Pa Winter Festival 2025, in conjunction with the New Year 2026 celebration events, will take place from October 25, 2025, to February 14, 2026, featuring a vibrant series of cultural, sports, and tourism activities rich in the distinctive identity of Vietnam’s Northwestern highlands.


 
This year’s festival aims to serve as a bridge for exchange and cooperation in preserving and promoting cultural values between Sa Pa Ward and other localities within and beyond Lào Cai Province, as well as international partners. Particularly, the connection between Sa Pa Ward and neighboring communes within the Sa Pa National Tourism Area promises to open new directions for sustainable tourism development, driving local socio-economic growth in the coming years.
 


The Sa Pa Winter Festival 2025 promises a series of unique and dynamic events. The opening ceremony of the Winter Festival and the Stone Lotus Flower Festival will kick off at 9:00 AM on October 25 at An Nhien Garden, managed by Fansipan Sa Pa Cable Car Tourism Services Co., Ltd., offering a space filled with the colors and essence of the highland winter.


 
Another highlight is the Mountain Bike Race “Sa Pa Forever – Discover the Fairyland of Sau Chua - LCC9”, taking place on December 13–14, 2025. This thrilling adventure sports event challenges cyclists to conquer winding roads and steep mountain passes amidst terraced fields and deep valleys. The destination—Sau Chua, a “fairy village” located at an altitude of over 1,700 meters—offers a mesmerizing view of drifting clouds and majestic northwestern landscapes, like a living painting. The race is not only a test of endurance but also a cultural journey exploring the magnificent nature and local traditions of Sa Pa.
 


In addition, the Winter Festival will feature a variety of cultural and artistic performances sure to captivate visitors. Highlights include the art shows “Sacred” and “Dance Under the Moon”, jointly organized by the Provincial Tourism Association, the Division of Culture and Society, and the Sa Pa Center for Culture, Information, and Communication, taking place from November 7–15, 2025, recreating the mystical and romantic charm of Sa Pa. Moreover, a host of exciting events will follow, such as the Sa Pa Snow Festival, the Sa Pa Culinary Record-setting Program, the New Year 2026 Countdown Art Show, the Welcome Ceremony for the First Tourists of 2026, and the Opening of “Sa Pa 2026 – The Convergence of Quintessence Space”. Together, these activities will bring a festive, colorful, and unforgettable winter experience to visitors in Sa Pa.
 


The activities within the Sa Pa Winter Festival 2025 not only promote the local culture and people but also contribute to boosting tourism revenue and fostering local socio-economic development.
